With a high commitment to quality, attention to detail and client service, Wylie is What You Like In Engineers.

Wylie History

Wylie was established in 1988 and has grown steadily to become a leading MEP engineering firm in Texas with offices in Houston and Austin.

Gary serves as CEO of the company with sons Ben and Grant running the Houston and Austin offices, respectively. Three reasons for this growth are our commitment to the quality of our designs, our attention to detail, and the responsiveness we offer our clients. Wylie offers mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology engineering and commissioning services, with specialized capabilities in the design of Commercial Office Buildings, Corporate Build-to-Suit, Interiors Development, Industrial/Manufacturing, Educational Facilities, Mixed-Use Developments, Multi-Family Residential, Science and Technology, Hotels/Hospitality, Retail/Restaurants, Community and Public Facilities, and Healthcare Facilities.
We expanded our services to the Austin market in 2014 due to the City’s continual growth and opportunities for development. Establishing a local presence enabled us to better support projects and clients in the region, and beyond, with efficiency and effectiveness as we have always done in Houston.

Sustainability

Throughout the years of our individual professional development, we have strived to design and engineer building systems that are both efficient and economical through design innovations and the utilization of new products and technologies. So, it stands to reason that we share an enthusiasm and dedication to the goals of sustainable design initiatives.
Wylie design engineers use practical and collaborative approaches to advance sustainable building design and construction practices. Because the LEED standards keep changing, we stay current with new requirements so our projects pass certification more easily. We encourage our young engineers to gain LEED Certification in at least one area.
Our commitment to sustainability hasn’t just started over recent years. It has been an integral part of our design philosophy since this firm was established and is shared by many of our long time clients as well. We continue to learn and are taking these core values to the next level through the use of renewable energy sources, water conservation measures, energy efficient systems and indoor air quality monitoring.
Various sustainable initiatives were incorporated into the MEP systems in some of our most recent projects, such as Energy Center Developments One through Five, 811 Main Street, alliantgroup Office Building and the Halliburton North Belt Corporate Campus, to name a few.

QA-QC Process

From day one, Gary Wylie, our Founder, has always believed in producing quality over quantity, and to this day, we find that providing a high quality product with unparalleled client service is of the utmost importance. As such, WE have developed a detailed and very thorough Quality Assurance and Quality Control process. WE believe the Quality Assurance process to be one that is implemented by our design engineers during the design process to ensure completeness. Our in-house developed Quality Control process engages with our most experienced engineers by discipline who provide direct feedback to the project managers
From simple single suite interiors renovations to large multi-building campuses, our in-house developed Quality Assurance program provides our design engineers the tools necessary to produce a quality design and set of construction documents. Furthermore, our Quality Control process enhances not only the clarity of the construction documents, but also the constructibility and functionality of the design.

BIM Practices

From the days of drafting by hand using electric erasers to the modern age of cloud based building information modeling, working concurrently with the entire project team to ensure the highest level of coordination for our Client's project, WE take pride in the quality set of construction documents created for our Client's project. Our team's ability to collaborate with architectural and the other engineering disciplines utilizing state-of-the-art Building Information Modeling software enhances the final product our Client receives.
No matter what Level of Design the project strives for, our team of experienced professionals can and will execute based upon the needs of the project.
